Hazelgrove School donated again in 2018
The children of Year 8 before leaving Hazelgrove to venture forth into senior schools once again thought of the YCAA. Their end-of-school musical production on the theme of Dickens was an amazing show. Not only did the singers, dancers and narrators make the performance, but other students did a fantastic job of marketing their show. They also researched the type of food that would be eaten by Victorians in Dickens’ time which was served during the interval. The art work used for the front of the programme was amazing, and the original prints were auctioned to add to the wonderful sum of almost £1500. The YCAA will definitely use this donation wisely in helping various other young people achieve their dreams in the performing arts. Thank you.
One of the students who benefitted from the fantastic donation from the children of the school last year, Lizzy Gingell, came along to meet the Headmaster and children. She was very impressed by their excellent performances.
Helen Laxton Dance School and the Somerset School of Performing Arts
The young people who love dance and performing with Helen also support various charities during the year. The YCAA is delighted to accept £500 this year from bucket collections at the end of their two shows. Thank you everyone and keep dancing!
Dance, Dance, Dance with The Dance Factory in April 2018
Once again the YCAA is grateful to The Dance Factory. Laura and Stephanie Bacon continue to support the YCAA with the annual Dance, Dance Dance show and this year they donated £2500 to the YCAA, who will use it to support dancers in their quests to fulfil dreams of becoming dancers by giving grants for their further education. Our association with these lovely, lively and talented dancers will continue later this year.
Liz Pike from the YCAA is pictured receiving their cheque and some lovely flowers with some of the talented dancers from The Dance Factory. A huge thank you to them all.
